A cheer up breakfast with Holly.

Pa’s angiogram went well yesterday, but sadly the results were not as we had hoped. There was a narrowing in 2 of his arteries and a blockage in another. Today we met with the cardiologist to discuss the options but prior to our meeting, Holly took me out for a cheer-up breakfast. Since I have not been home to bake much lately I thought for Treat Tuesday I would share our lovely breakfast.

We dined at T’hooft, a local café just 3 doors down from Holly’s work. If Holly is not home or at work in the morning, I can usually find her in the window seat at T’hooft. The café has an ultra cool vibe – I mean the caravan inside is the café and the menu is out of this world.

As part of my new diet I am no longer allowed to have sugar in my tea. I miss my tea so much, but yesterday Holly introduced me to the world of lemon ginger tea with real ginger. No sugar needed. It’s my new favourite. For breakfast I had a poached egg and avocado on toast with a side of sautéed mushrooms. How could I not have felt better! Holly had waffles with ice cream and strawberries. My gorgeous little god daughter Mog is not well right now so her lovely mummy got her a take-away order of French toast brioche, salted caramel sauce and cream.
