On December 23rd 2012, I married the love of my life. It also happened to be the day I started Project Life.
In the lead up to our wedding in December, I was contemplating ways to document our first year of marriage. I used to journal in high school but as the old adage says a picture is worth a thousand words. The page above documents the evening proportion of our wedding day.
In early December I began prepping to begin Project Life. I subscribed to the Studio Calico PL kit and ordered the Seafoam kit from Craft House New Zealand. Alas when the first week of January arrived I still had no supplies. After some research I discovered the wonders of digital product. The woodgrain cards are from Paislee Press, available though The Lilypad. Prior to the first week of January I had not used Photoshop in a decade. Not a bad job for someone who taught herself, huh?
I didn’t know it at the time but this was the beginning of my hybrid style. Above is the business card from the restaurant we celebrated at that night. I love adding memorabilia, it just happened to tie in nicely with the theme for this week.
Christmas was a quiet one at home but no less enjoyable. Having cooked the menu myself, I took special care to document it. I also noted what we received for Christmas. This may seem a little superficial but with our wedding 2 days before and Chris’s birthday 5 days away, I always get presents muddled up. You can probably tell I’m still a little stoked by my stitching. The flair badges are from an Australia Etsy store called Scrap and Create. Even now, 5 months later this is still one of my favourite layouts.
Speaking of which – till I catch up to the current day project life, I will be publishing my PL spreads on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I look forward to hearing your opinion.
