everyday

First let me say, I’ve never felt so much blog love. Thank you all so much for all the awesome comments. I wish you could all get $30 vouchers, alas it can only go to one lucky stamper and that winner is…

Workspace Wednesday: Magazines for Creatives

everyday

Workspace-Wednesday

Today, I got up early (and by early I mean 7-ish). I finished off my last project for A Piece of Cake Designs and then climbed back into bed with hubby. That pretty much set the tone for the day actually. It didn’t feel like a day to start new things, but rather a day to wrap things up. My favourite task came late afternoon – with all the pressing loose ends tied up, I sat down to read a rather large stack of magazines I have been accumulating.

Currently on the Workspace Wednesday I am reading:

        • Fete Summer Edition – Best Party/Gathering Magazine out there. I love that it’s Australian. It always inspires me to try new things when we have friends over.

        • Frankie – Another Aussie magazine that will teach you all about crafts you never knew even existed! For example, did you know it takes 7 years to do a hand woven lace apprenticeship? I had no idea either!

        • Kinfolk Issue Fourteen – The photography in this magazine is AMAZING. Really loving the home tours in this issue too.

        • Cereal Volume Eight – Very much in the same vein as Kinfolk, but English. Loved the essays on Hong Kong and the Stahl House.

        • Donna Hay Summer Issue – Because there are only so many nights I can feed my husband salad. I always find the recipes easy to follow too.

        • Artful Blogger – Every time I pick this magazine up I become inspired to blog. So many beautiful stories with so much soul.

      • Where Women Create Business – There is nothing I admire more than women who turn their passions into a business. This mag has great ideas on where to start.

The good news is after my lazy afternoon reading, I can just tell tomorrow is going to be a day for starting new things. I’ve already made a list!

I’d love to hear from you, are there any other magazines I should be adding to the pile?

ECT: April Love Links

everyday

Good Morning. I sat at my desk this morning to write out my May Love Links for the Essence Creative Team post and the first thing that dawned on me was that I had forgotten to post April’s list here. Silly me. My theme for April was stationery. A hard topic for sure, but I managed to narrow it down to these 4 brands.

Rifle Paper Co. / Quill & Fox / Minted / Kikki K

To see the full post and what Caylee is crushing on last month head over here.

P.s. Any ideas for love link themes to would like to see in future?

Diggin right now: Podcasts

everyday

It’s only of recent times I have rediscovered podcasts. Once upon a time I would get all my university lectures that way. Nothing like an anthropology lecture during a gym workout to make you think about human evolution. Lucky, my tastes are some what less intellectual these days.

Elise Gets Crafty: Let’s start with the new kid on the block. We all know Elise. She is certainly not new to the crafting world, but her podcast is and let me say it’s phenomenal. Elise is a super mum with crafting and blogging insights that will blow your mind.

The Lively Show: Seriously, her name is Jess Lively. She was born for this role. Jess is one of the most inspiring, upbeat, motivating people I know. She did a fantastic interview with Jessica Murnane and I seriously considered going Vegan for a month. Yes, she is that good.

Scrap Gals: Lord, these two make me laugh. They are as southern, as the day is long and just utterly hysterical to both the listeners and themselves. I love their guilt free approach to scrapping and I am very to call Tracie my friend… if I ever do get round to answering her last email.

After the Jump: I could listen to design podcasters all day and every day. Graphic design, House Design, Stylists you name it. If form meets function, I am there. Grace is what I consider to be the best of the best and if that were not enough, she also interviews the best. I particularly like episode 7 where she interview Sibella Court – our very own Aussie Stylist.

Evernote Blog: Something for the techies. The Evernote boys no longer make the podcast, but their old episodes are still worth listening too. Wouldn’t you like to know how the creator of Evernote uses his “external brain”? These guys will teach you heaps about Evernote and have you laughing all at the same time.

Jot Magazine Issue 2 is out!

everyday

I’ve been waiting all day for this – a truly awesome birthday present. Jot magazine is a true love of mine. I relate to Jots style completely. I love the clean bright style and all the amazing ideas, not just for Project Life but many other creative projects. You may even see a familiar face or two.20130901-202422.jpg
Yep, that’s me featured in their Instaglam article. I can’t tell you how honoured I am. I draw a huge amount of my inspiration from those I follow on Instagram and I really hope my followers gain something from me – inspiration, joy, ideas, answers and hopefully the occasional smile. Here is the link to the new issue again. I know you are going to love it. The link for my Instagram is in the sidebar, but if you don’t have Instagram here is a small sneak peek of my feed.
