Today is Miss E’s first birthday party. I cannot believe it.

I first met Miss E’s Mummy when she was a couple of months pregnant with Miss E. Which to me feels like forever ago as I now consider her one of my greatest friends. Miss E was not an easy baby at all. Colic drove her poor mamma crazy for her first 3 months of life. Since then she has come along in leaps and bounds. There is just something about that kid that makes me smile in her presence. She has the cutest chubby cheeks and the most easy-going personality. She just adores her sister and laughs so hard at the drop of a hat. Just can’t get over her being 1.

I always struggle with buying children’s gifts, having none of my own it’s all a little bit of a mystery. For little Miss E I have bought a xylophone. A good sturdy wooden one, that she can chew on. At least I think that’s what they do at that age. My reasoning behind it is: Music is great for babies right? And if they already have one – awesome! It means Miss E and her big sister can play together. I hope anyway.

I took particular pride in wrapping Miss E’s present. Actually I like all forms of gift wrapping really. I found the cutest blue doillie paper at Big W and paired it with some o-check natural twine from the two owls* (found here) and a doillie flower from inky co. (found here). Pretty spectacular if I do say so myself.

*At the time of writing this, two owls offers free shipping all over Australia AND the twine is on sale! What more could you want?
